What file types work best?
- Vector (preferred): AI, PDF, EPS, SVG (fonts outlined).
- Raster: PNG (transparent background) or TIFF at print size.
- Avoid: Low-res JPGs, screenshots, or images taken from social media.
What resolution do you need?
- 300 PPI at the final print size is ideal (minimum 200 PPI).
- Pixel guide: width in cm × 118 ≈ pixels at 300 PPI (e.g. 30 cm ≈ 3540 px).
- Upscaling a small file rarely improves quality—send the largest original you have.
Should my colours be RGB, CMYK or Pantone?
- DTG/Digital/DTF: RGB files usually map best to printers.
- Screen printing: Supply Pantone Solid Coated refs or spot colours for best matching.
- Minor shifts can occur between screens and fabric—ask for a test or pre-production strike if colour-critical.
How should I set up transparency and backgrounds?
- Use a transparent background for DTG/DTF unless you want a coloured block.
- Remove any white box around the artwork. Supply as PNG/TIFF with transparency or vector.
Do I need to outline fonts or expand strokes?
- Yes: Convert text to outlines/curves and expand strokes to avoid font/subtle line issues.
- Keep fine lines ≥ 0.5–0.75 pt for reliable fabric printing.
What size should I supply the artwork?
- Send artwork at the exact print size or larger, centred on its own artboard/canvas.
- Leave a safe area around edges; avoid important details right at the boundary.
Any tips for printing on dark shirts?
- DTG/DTF on dark garments uses a white underbase—avoid very soft glows/shadows that rely on the shirt colour.
- For screen printing on darks, consider underbase + top colours for brightness.
